Metal analysis by ICP-MS

Metal analysis by ICP-MS

We publish a report on the analysis of metals present in the Infanrix Hexa, Hexyon, Priorix Tetra and Gardasil 9 vaccines

From the results we can affirm that from the aspect of the presence of aluminum we have not found non-conformities for the Infanrix Hexa, Hexyon and Gardasil 9 vaccines. We leave a parenthesis open for the Priorix Tetra vaccine since, if only a little, 0.8 μg / dose (500 μg), it should not be there.

ICP-MS: Inductively Coupled Plasma - Mass Spectrometry

ICP-MS represents the most sensitive atomic spectroscopy technique and is therefore suitable for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of trace elements and the simultaneous determination of about 30 elements in a single run.

metal analysis 1

In inductively coupled plasma or ICP-MS mass spectrometry the ions produced in the argon plasma are injected into the MS where they are separated according to their mass / charge ratio. This procedure is the ideal solution for the analysis of metals at concentrations as low as parts per trillion.

Plasma is an electrically neutral gas with a certain ionization percentage (~ 5%). The sun, lightning and northern lights are examples of plasma in nature. The energy that maintains an analytical plasma derives from an electric or magnetic field; they do not "burn" the sample. Most analytical plasmas operate with argon or helium, which makes combustion impossible. Plasmas are characterized by high temperature (typically in the range 600-8000 K) and by high ionic and electronic density.

Notes to the financial statements

In addition to aluminum, Hafnium, Antimony, Arsenic, Barium, Barium, Bismuth, Cadmium, Chromium, Gallium, Indium, Iridium, Yttrium, Lanthanum, Lanthanum, Mercury, Nickel, Palladium, Lead, Platinum, Copper, Rhodium have been sought, Ruthenium, Scandium, Tin, Strontium, Tantalum, Thallium, Tungsten, Vanadium and were all below the detection limit of 5 ng / g.

Aluminum quantitative comparison between Corvelva, AGBUG and Technical Data Sheet

In 2016 the German AGBUG Association had activated itself to analyze a series of vaccines, 16 types. With this card we want to buy the various results, precisely by comparing ours with those of the AGBUG Association and with what is indicated in the product data sheet.

We will only use aluminum as a comparison because all other metals are below our detection limit of 5 ng / g.
